We stayed in the Buck Hotel on Sat 2nd July and overall found it excellent value for money. The owners were extremely welcoming and accomodating and were keen to ensure that we had everything that we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We were in a party that booked 3 rooms and all of them were bright and airy and were decorated and furnished to a very high standard. The en-suite was spotless with a powerful shower and a good choice of quality toiletries. The bed was very very comfortable, and we even had a "real" hairdryer that actually worked! We didn't have a TV in our room, however as all the others did we concluded that this was probably only temporary. The rooms also seemed to be pretty well soundproofed as there was no noise from other guests or road noise etc. Although we weren't offered a choice of breakfast apart from Full English, they were happy to cater for various people's requests, although I have to say the English breakfast was cooked to absolute perfection with good quality fresh ingredients. If I was to be hyper critical I would say to change the milk in the guest rooms as it was vile and tainted the taste of the tea and coffee. Also there was no cereal/ fruit/ yogurt offered for breakfast and we had to ask for toast which I found a little strange, and it also appears that there is a definate lack of teaspoons in the Hotel as we had none in our rooms or at breakfast to stir our drinks. However apart from these little tweaks it was a really enjoyable stay, and superb value at £55 per room. I would be delighted to stay again as would all in our party and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others.
